Although the three schools each have different establishment philosophies, histories and backgrounds, through this collaboration they will work together towards the sophistication and socialization of education, research and practical application. They will also aim to enhance the strength of degrees from music universities and further community revitalization.
- In 2010, a comprehensive and practical new curriculum called the “Music Communication Course” will be established at each university. This course will be executed using a syllabus created by the joint research of educators from the three universities. The actual classes will use an internet video conferencing system for simultaneous transmission with a live connection. Through this, students from the other two universities will be able to receive lessons with the same content at the same time, while also participating in discussions and question-and-answer sessions. As a part of this course, a summer seminar will also be offered, giving students from the three universities an opportunity to meet each other in person under a single roof.
- As an opportunity to put the collaboration of the three universities into practice, a concert (special concert for children) jointed planned by students from the three universities will be held at Kobe College in 2010. Meetings between students for planning and preparation will also use the internet video conferencing system.
- Using the experience above, the planning and implementation of a new initiative for cultural facilities such as public auditoriums is planned for 2011. The three universities will work in cooperation to find local public organizations and cultural facilities with which tie-ups are possible. They will solicit auditoriums that are willing to work together with students and involve the students in planning, negotiations, production, and performance situations. This will provide an opportunity for students to learn about the creation of music in the real world. Instead of a unidirectional concert, an interactive plan will be proposed and implemented to include hands-on learning experiences for the children. Through this, students will be able to acquire strength in production skills and cultivate communication abilities.
